The community of Fancy is farthest north of all the communities above the Rabacca River, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. In January 2015, the community of Fancy received a considerable amount of attention from the local media, government and nationals of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, when tragedy struck and a minibus carrying 21 passengers including 14 students plunged into the sea at 'Rock gutter' taking the lives of seven children.

In spite of its location, Fancy continues to be a magnet, attracting a large audience annually on 14th March when the community comes alive in its staging of national heroes day cultural festival.***
