2021

GIPSVG Inc. acknowledges the successful distribution of backpacks to this year’s Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) students - north of the Rabacca River. This is the continuation of a backpack program established by the organization in 2016. This year, a total of 68 backpacks containing essential school supplies were distributed to students who successfully completed the CPEA, and who have now begun their secondary education. The following is a breakdown of the student numbers and the respective schools:• Fancy Government school - 6 students• Owia Government School - 17 students• Sandy Bay Government School - 28 students • Tourama Government School - 17 students.  Each primary school also received a donation of school supplies. This year, GIPSVG received an additional 10 knapsacks from Donald McDowell (a representative of Kipling USA) which were distributed to 10 elementary level students in Owia. Sincere thanks to those persons who donated to our program, and a special thank you to the Headteachers who coordinated the distribution of the backpacks. We look forward to your continued support in 2022.***

2020

During the week of 7-11 September 2020, GIPSVG backpacks were distributed to the successful CPEA Students north of the Rabacca River.  A total of 76 students each received a backpack containing school supplies.
GIPSVG backpack initiative started in 2015 and was catered for students in the top three from each of the four primary schools above the River. Through our fund raising efforts, we were able to increase the number of backpacks to top six (6)  last year. This year, with an intention not to leave any student behind, we donated to every successful CPEA student from each of the four primary schools.  However, due to protocol requirements in place for Covid-19, we were unable to conduct an official presentation of the backpacks to the successful CPEA students. We sincerely thank the Principals of the Fancy, Owia, Sandy Bay and Tourama Primary Schools, for coordinating the distribution of the backpacks on our behalf.
Once again, we take this opportunity to congratulate all of the students and wish them the very best in their new academic journey.

2019

Yet another year and GIPSVG has donated backpacks to the top six (6) successful CPEA Students from the Garifuna Communities above the Rabacca River.

2018

12 Aug. 2018:  GIPSVG donates to the top three (3) successful CPEA Students from the four primary schools above the Rabacca River.
